UPDATE – March 1, 2006

Emily traveled to Chapel Hill with her Mom and Dad on Wednesday, March 1. She was able to see both her Pediatric Oncologist, Dr. Stuart Gold, and her Radiologist, Dr. David Morris, that day. Both were pleased with how she has responded to treatment, so far. They both agreed that she looks good, and we should continue with her therapies with no modifications at this time. Emily is tolerating her oral chemotherapy, Temodar, well. She has recovered from her pneumonia and is acting like her “old” self. We are still struggling with some speech impairment, but are receiving help to try to improve it. Emily will also begin some physical therapy to help regain some strength she has lost, especially on her left side. Emily will return to Chapel Hill on Tuesday, March 21, for a MRI and a visit with Dr. Gold. (She sees Dr. Gold once a month and has a MRI every two months.) Thanks to everyone for their continued support! Your phone calls, cards and prayers mean so very much!
