MRI UPDATE – Dec 28, 2005
Emily had her MRI on Tuesday, December 27, and the scan showed that the tumor had “significantly decreased in size,” according to her Oncologist, Dr. Stuart Gold. We are so thankful that the news is good! We felt like it would be, but were anxious all the same! Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers! We ask that you continue to pray for us. We pray that the tumor does not enlarge, that it continues to shrink and go away! Emily will have a MRI performed every two months to evaluate for any changes. She will start a regimen of Temodar (oral chemo) late January. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted Emily a wish for her birthday. We will leave January 13 (her actual birthday) to fly to Disney World for a week. We will be staying at “Give Kids the World.” Kristi’s mother and dad will be spending part of the week with us. We are all excited and glad to be focusing our energy on getting ready for the trip, now that we have received good news from the MRI! Emily looks good and feels good. She is acting more like her “old self.” She still has reminders that there is progress yet to be made, but we’ve come a long way! Emily will begin speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy the first of 2006. If we don’t go backward, we go forward! Again, our sincerest thanks and appreciation to everyone who has reached out to us! Without God, our family and our friends, we would not have made it this far. Through God, all things are possible! Thanks for taking time to check up on her progress through the website.
