Emily enjoyed an overnight trip home Saturday night, Oct. 29.
This was the first trip home she and mommy had made since arriving in Chapel Hill Oct. 1. She enjoyed sleeping in her own bed and seeing her pets and friends. She especially enjoyed going to our church’s Fall Festival on Sunday afternoon. We are all so grateful and overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of community support. Everyone involved with the festival worked so hard, and it was an obvious success. She likes the “Carolina Blue” bracelets the church made for her saying, “Pray for Emily.” Emily also visited the local “Pumpkin Patch” in Wilmington while home. We go every year and enjoy taking photos with the pumpkins in the patch. Prior to our brief visit home, Emily developed cystitis and a mild urinary tract infection. She is taking medication for the discomfort and the infection. In spite of this, Emily’s doctors still remain upbeat about her stability at this point.
