EMILY WADE MEMORIAL SERVICE
SATURDAY, JULY 22, 2006 AT NOON
St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church
612 South College Road
Wilmington, NC 28403-3202
Emily’s memorial service will be at noon on Saturday, July 22, in the parish church of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. We urge you to attend and to bring children. A nursery will be available for the smallest children. Seating will obviously be closer together on Saturday.
The service will be a celebration of Emily’s life. There will NOT be Holy Communion. We will have a children’s sermon that helps the children to understand that Emily is alive with God today! You should not be afraid to include the children, especially Emily and Jake’s friends and classmates, in the service to the extent that they are old enough to participate.
Because there will be no funeral home visitation and because the burial (scheduled at a time earlier) will be for family only so that their privacy may be respected at a fragile time, we urge you to attend the memorial service and then a reception that will follow in the McSwain Center at St. Matthew’s. The reception will give people a time to greet the family and share love and care with them.
MEMORIALS FOR EMILY ANN WADE
In lieu of flowers, Happy and Kristi Wade invite your memorial gifts to a couple of different giving opportunities:
In consultation with the Wades and by action of the St. Matthew’s church council at a special meeting, a new fund has been created to receive memorial gifts. The new fund is the Emily Wade Memorial Fund for Family Assistance. It will exist in perpetuity. This will be a vehicle for present and future gifts that, as requested, can be used to bless other families with similar great needs including Sarah Price and family. Mail your donation to:
