Emily Ann Wade went home today at 5:05 p.m. The Lord Jesus took her by the hand as He did Jairus’ daughter and said, “Little girl, I say to you arise.” Now there is no more pain, no more crying, no more suffering, and no more dying for Emily. The old things have passed away.
For the rest of us, and especially Kristi, Happy, and Jake, there is much pain, crying, and suffering at Emily’s death.
Her leave-taking was difficult for the final 13 hours but, at the last, she went gently as her mother sang to her and held her. Emily’s godparents, Stan and Jane, her Grandmommie and Granddaddy Weeks, and Emily (“Big Em”) and her husband Jeremy were also with Emily as she went home.
Happy and Kristi want to thank you for your countless hours of prayer, your gifts of love, and palpable signs of caring. God bless you.
Memorial service plans are pending. We hope for noon Saturday at the church but, at this point, cannot say.
We will let you know more about memorials instead of flowers (where you may give) and how you may help out. A reception will follow the memorial service.
Tomorrow night we should have accurate information to share for your weekend plans.
God bless you for your faithfulness.
I love you,
Pr. Sam Zumwalt
